All Terrain Survival©

A hiker huddles next to a fire in the snow. This unique program prepares adventurers and emergency personnel for a variety of survival situations commonly—and not so commonly—found in wilderness settings. You will learn practical and diverse skills ranging from emergency shelter, fire building, basic map and compass navigation, field navigation without instruments and traversing natural obstacles, to signaling, wilderness cooking and basic wilderness first aid.

We will be outside for multiple field exercises, regardless of weather conditions. Dress accordingly, and bring a daypack loaded with your normal gear for a day in the backcountry.

Topics include:

  • Emergency shelters
  • Traversing obstacles
  • Extreme weather fire building
  • Navigation without instruments
  • Field defense and emergency signaling
  • Wilderness food and open fire cooking
